Integrated Rural Development and Nature Conservation

Conservancy Tourism Products Survey

Only for those who prefer travelling to tourism...

Over the last 25 years, while pioneering the implementation of community-based natural resource management in Namibia, IRDNC has tested many new approaches and projects. A major focus today is trialing new ways that communal conservancies can sustainably generate revenue. This includes a new range of tourism products called 'Conservancy Tourism'.

One early product is guided tours to different conservancies where the group will be hosted by members of these conservancies. Senior program staff will lead such tours but our aim is to help conservancies develop top class businesses run by themselves, bringing tourists to the conservancies for holidays that offer human interest, cultural and wilderness values. If you are interested in helping us test this kind of tourism, in north-western Kunene's spectacular desert plains and moonscapes or north-eastern Caprivi's lush wetlands, floodplains and mopane woodlands, or both, please submit your name and address and destination preferences below.
